The REX system is designed to simplify and streamline the process of certifying the origin of goods under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). It places more responsibility on the exporters to ensure that their products meet the necessary criteria for preferential treatment. The implementation of the REX system is part of broader efforts to modernize and simplify trade procedures within the EU and its trade partners.

 

European Union exporters can use the REX system for: 

• Canada

• East African and Southern African countries, including the Comoros Islands, Madagascar, Mauritius, the Seychelles, and Zimbabwe

• Ghana

• Ivory Coast

• Japan

• Singapore

• The United Kingdom

• Vietnam

We are also preparing Statement of Origin, which any exporter can apply for if the shipment value does not exceed EUR 6000. Statement of Origin can be prepared for the mentioned countries, as well as for overseas territories and territories (OTT) and Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) beneficiary countries.

In cases where a Statement of Origin is required for goods exported for processing to OTT countries such as New Caledonia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and French Polynesia, the threshold is EUR 10000.
